Register a server with an AWS Elastic Load Balancer

To register a server in a deployment with an AWS Elastic Load Balancer.

Note: If you are using application ServerTemplates from an LTS or Infinity release (e.g. v12.11), please see the appropriate runbooks for detailed instructions instead of the steps outlined in this tutorial.

  • A configured AWS Elastic Load Balancer

Once you have created and configured your load balancer, you need to register a server with it.  Typically, you will register a server from one of your deployments and specify whether it should register immediately, or the next time the server is launched.

  • Navigate to Clouds -> AWS Region -> Load Balancing -> LoadBalancerName
  • Click the Servers tab
  • Select the Register new server action button
  • Fill out the following fields in the form and press OK when ready
    • Server - Select the Server from the drop-down menu.   (The format is DeploymentName / ServerName)
    • Registering Options - Select the checkbox to designate register now or at boot time.
You must to post a comment.
