The following are partner specific FAQs, built and maintained by the RightScale partner. Click here to see RightScale specific FAQs.
PARTNER NOTE:
Because of the way the Support Portal includes the initial page title in the URL and the way it sorts by default, please follow these simple guidlines when creating FAQs. It looks like a lot, but it really is basic and simple to perform.
* Click New Page (from this FAQs landing page)
* Enter the Page Title in the following (specific) format: FAQ #### - FAQ_Title
Where #### is four digits, padded with zeros. Examples: 0001, 0002, ... 0010, 0011, 0012, ... 0100, 0101, 0102, ... 9999
Where FAQ_Title is the name of the FAQ, usually a question such as: "How do I add a Widget?" or "When do I delete a Widget"?
Example: FAQ 0001 - How do I create a widget?
Example: FAQ 0002 - When do I add new widgets?
Important! - Refrain from using non alphanumeric characters. The "?" and "-" above are ok, but other chars can cause a problem (e.g. slashes, apostrophes, etc.) for URL encoding.
* From the line below the Page Title you just entered, read in the basic FAQ format from a template:
Click the Template icon in the Edit bar (Upper left area, 4th from left. Looks like a Table, just to the right of the Magnifying Glass.)
From the drop down, select the "Template: ISV-FAQs"
Click the Insert Template button when ready
Fill out the Background and Answer information accordingly.
* Click Save when ready
* IMPORTANT! Its a bit awkward, but its simple and your FAQs will display nicely after you complete this simple step:
Click Edit Page
Remove the padded 0's from the Page Title. For example, FAQ 0001 becomes FAQ 1, FAQ 0010 becomes FAQ 10, etc.
Click Save when ready
* Once saved, give your new document the FAQ metadata tag (which can be used by the portal search engine)
AT the bottom of the page, enter "FAQ" in the Add Tag field.
Click the Add Tag button
Note: Its OK to leave the following wiki.tree() call in the document. If you create a file under the FAQ it will be shown however. (No reason to do so, so you can leave the wiki.tree, delete it, or comment it out.)
