I want to perform a manual backup at this moment

Master and slave templates come pre-configured with automatic continuous backups. You can also perform a manual backup of a DB instance at a particular point in time.

Verification: How do I know my system is in this situation?

  • You want to backup the data from the master DB instance (i.e., not the slave instance)
  • Typically you would qualify for this situation when you want to save the full contents of the DB before and/or after applying significant code or data modifications to the system as a way to recover from possible data corruption.
