CodeFutures provides the dbShards® Suite of database reliability and performance tools. dbShards enables high-performance reliable replication for mission-critical databases, and enables “share-nothing, shard everything”, extreme scalability through database “sharding”.
dbShards Cloud Edition brings all of the reliability and scalability benefits of dbShards to cloud environments. Cloud computing offers unparalleled flexibility when scaling high volume web applications by allowing additional application server instances to be added on demand. However, if the application is designed to use a single MySQL instance then this will be a contention point limiting the effectiveness of the cloud, especially since individual cloud instances have limited CPU and memory.
The dbShards Cloud Edition is fully enabled for cloud computing using the Rightscale platform.
ServerTemplates published by RightScale Partners can be found in the MultiCloud Marketplace. Go to Design -> MultiCloud Marketplace -> ServerTemplates. Use the filter options to find correct ServerTemplate(s). In order to use the ServerTemplate, you must first import it to your local view.
Some Partner ServerTemplates are not designed to launch server instances. In some cases, the purpose of a ServerTemplate is to provide access to a collection of RightScripts.
