v13.2 Maintenance

Terminology:

  • Alpha - Feature that has undergone simple testing and is expected to change, possibly significantly, before going into "beta" or "general release." Recommended for early access to new features and prototyping of new deployments/architectures. Only eligible for limited technical support. Service-level response times are not applicable to Alpha components.
  • Beta - Feature that has undergone significant testing and is not expected to significantly change before "general release." Recommended for non-production deployments.
  • General release - Feature that has undergone testing and field experience or is a minor upgrade from prior releases. Recommended for production upgrade after testing. Also known as general availability (GA).

Overview

This is a maintenance release for the v13.2 infinity ServerTemplates. These release notes include the newest revisions of the v13.2 infinity ServerTemplates. See below for links to these ServerTemplates as well as information of what changed. 

If you already imported the v13.2 infinity ServerTemplates, they are forward-compatible with the new revisions. Simply upgrade your revision to the newest in your account library.

Known Limitations

Limit for listing buckets in Google

When listing all of the buckets in a specified project, there is a maximum number that will return. Buckets are listed alphabetically and not chronologically, so the buckets returned are the first 100 in an alphabetical list. For more information, see https://developers.google.com/storag...ods#getservice.

Restore from ROS

When doing a restore from ROS, we recommend setting the "Percentage of the LVM used for data (1)"  input to 50. This does not affect backups, so a system already set to 90% can do a backup without issues. If a secondary restore does fail, set the "Percentage of the LVM used for data (1)" input to 50 on the next server, change the 'Total Volume Size" input accordingly and re-launch.

Kernel upgrades

Kernel upgrades required for images to provision after Jan 15, 2013. For more information, see http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/WAVirtualMachinesforLinux/. The CentOS kernel is a modified kernel provided by the OpenLogic repo (2.6.32-279.14.1) which only supplies kernel and agent updates. This is a 3rd party mirror which is not frozen. A back-ported Ubuntu kernel was installed from precise-updates repo at 12/22/2012 (3.2.0-35-virtual). The Ubuntu repository must be dated at 12/22/2012 or higher for Azure support. (w-5335, w-5336)

New Kernel options

Kernel options "rootdelay=300 console=ttyS0" added to allow sufficient time for SCSI devices to attach. (w-5331)
