ServerTemplates

Overview

Each RightScale published ServerTemplate includes the following exhaustive reference information:

• General information
• Images
• Scripts (both Chef and RightScript based are supported)
• Inputs used by all RightScripts
• Revision history

You can view the reference information by navigating or searching.

Navigation

Navigating is very straight forward. Start by using the ServerTemplates pull down in the global navigation bar at the top of the display.

• ServerTemplates > LTS > <ServerTemplateName> > Reference (upper right, yellow box)
• Example:  ServerTemplates > LTS > Base ServerTemplate for Linux (Chef) (v13.5 LTS) > Reference

Search

There are many different search options of course, but realizing a few basic conventions should help you find what you are after.

• Each document name ends in " - Reference"
• Each document name includes the version within it. 
• Example (find the same base Linux ST), search for:

  • base servertemplate - reference

  • Note several results will be displayed.  Select the correct version.  (Yours is not guaranteed to be the first listed!)  Sample search output:
