New

Create a new End User License Agreement (EULA) that can later be attached to a ServerTemplate during the publication process. Fill out the following fields:

  • Name - Name your EULA. The Name is for the publishers benefit, it is not seen by the end-user who accepts the EULA before they can import the the ServerTemplate. There is a 50 character limit.
  • Text - Enter the text (content body) of your EULA. Most will simply copy/paste existing EULAs into this field. There is a 500k character limit. Basic markdown formatting may be used.

Be sure to use the Preview action button to look over your EULA prior to saving it.

Index

You can create, manage, and attach End User License Agreements (EULAs) to ServerTemplates during the publishing process. Attaching EULAs is not mandatory however. There are three parts to End User License Agreements in the RightScale Dashboard that you should be familiar with:

  1. Managing EULAs - Create new EULAs, new revisions, view, archive/unarchive, etc. (Design -> Account Library -> Your EULAs)
  2. Publications - Attach EULAs to ServerTemplates as part of the publishing process, or view EULAs attached to published ServerTemplates (Design -> Account Library -> Your Publications)
  3. Accepting EULAs - When end users import ServerTemplates that have EULAs attached to them, they must accept/reject each EULA that was attached to the ServerTemplate. (More than one EULA can be attached to a published ServerTemplate.)

Additional information:

  • New - Action button for creating a new EULA.
  • Filter by Name - Use this filter to quickly find either archived or unarchived EULAs. EULAs are listed in one of two tables:

    1. EULAs - EULAs listed here are said to be unarchived, or active EULAs.
    2. Archived EULAs - Previously active EULAs that were explicitly archived are listed here.

If you archive an active EULA, it is moved to the Archived EULAs table. (Note: You cannot delete a EULA). If you unarchive an EULA, it is moved back to the standard EULAs table.

View information about the selected EULA.

Action buttons:

  • Preview - Render the markdown of the selected EULA. The display is what an end user would see when importing a ServerTemplate that has the selected EULA attached to it.
  • New Revision - Create a new revision of the EULA. The name and body (content) of the EULA are copied as a starting point. Once saved, the new revision will appear in the EULA revision time-line.
  • Archive/Unarchive - Archive (or Unarchive) the selected EULA. Important! When you archive a EULA, you archive its entire lineage. (That is, the selected revision and all lower revisions. Similarly, if you unarchive a EULA, the entire lineage is unarchived.) You cannot delete a EULA, but you can archive (and unarchive) them. Archived EULAs cannot be attached to ServerTemplates during the publishing process, only active EULAs can. You can of course unarchive a EULA and then attach it to a EULA.
Design > Account Library > Your EULAs > Show

Revisions tab

The Revisions tab displays each Revision number of the EULA, along with when the actual revision was Created At, and a tally on how many ServerTemplates the revision is Used By.

Design > Account Library > Your EULAs > Show > Revisions tab

Info tab

The following fields of information are displayed on the Info tab:

  • Created On - Date and time stamp of EULA creation in the Dashboard.
  • Revision - EULAs support basic revisions. A newly created EULA will always be revision 1 [rev 1]. The Revisions tab contains complete information for Revision, Created At timestamp and a Used By tally.
  • Used By - Total tally of all revisions of this EULA being used by published ServerTemplates. Notice that this column of the table is a tally of all revisions. If you select the individual EULA, and sum up the Used by total for each revision, that is where the total tally comes from.
Design > Account Library > Your EULAs > Show > Info tab

Xref tab

The Xref tab displays each revision for the EULA, along with the ServerTemplate or ServerTemplates that use them. That is, ServerTemplates that were attached to the EULA during the publishing process.
