Use the ServerTemplate Usage Report to track ServerTemplate usage across the current RightScale account you're currently viewing.

Periodic tab

The Periodic tab allows you to schedule periodic reports that will automatically be generated for you. Each report will be saved in the specified S3 bucket. To save the report in multiple S3 buckets, simply create another periodic report. Currently, you can create up to 10 periodic reports.

• Frequency - Specify how often the report should be generated (e.g. Daily or Monthly). The reports are slightly different. Daily reports will group usage by day (multiple rows per instance), while monthly reports group usage by instance for the whole month (single row per instance).
• S3 Bucket - Select the S3 bucket where the usage report (.csv) will be stored.
• Report Name - Name of the usage report.
• Email Notification (optional) - Provide a comma-separated list of email addresses that will receive notifications when the report becomes available. Note that this is an email notification only, the report is not attached to the email. You must browse the S3 bucket to gain access to the report data.

On Demand tab

The On Demand tab allows you to create ServerTemplate Usage Reports on-demand. Usage report data only applies to usage of ServerTemplates within the current RightScale account. If you want to schedule periodic reports, see the Periodic tab.

• Action - Select the type of report you want to generate.
  • View Overview - View a high level overview of the usage data inside the Dashboard.
  • Download - Download a detailed .csv file for the selected timeframe.
• Timeframe - Select the timeframe of the report that you want to generate. Either select a specific month or a specific date range. The generated reports are slightly different. Date-range reports will group usage by day (multiple rows per instance), while monthly reports group usage by instance for the whole month (single row per instance). If you select the "download" action, you also have the option of generating a "Month by Day" report which will generate multiple rows per instance for the whole month.
