Enable Billing Admin-only

Overview

By default, any user (with 'observer' permissions) can view estimated cloud usage costs on the RightScale Cloud Analytics site.

• RightScale Cloud Analytics - Access to view detailed and granular billing information via the RightScale Cloud Analytics (RCA) website. (If RCA is not enabled for your RightScale account, please contact your RightScale Account Manager.)

End users who are launching servers in the account may find this information useful to better track the cloud usage costs. However, some organizations might prefer to hide billing related information from most of their users. In such cases, you can enable the 'Billing Admin-only' account setting, which only allows users with either the 'admin' or 'billing' user permissions access to the account's billing related information. 

Steps

Follow these simple steps to enable Admin-only billing information.

• Navigate to Settings > Account Settings > Preferences tab
• Under the "Billing Preferences" section, select your billing setting.
  • Disabled - Any user with 'observer' user role permission can view an account's billing related information.
  • Enabled - Only users with 'admin' or 'billing' user role permissions can view an account's billing related information.
