Delete a Security Group

Overview

Deleting a security group removes the security group from the network as well as from the non-operational servers that are have their security group value set to the network's security group.

Prerequisites

  • 'security_manager' user role privilege

Steps

  1. Go to Manage > Networks and select the network you would like to use. 
  2. Go to the Security Groups tab and select the security group or groups you would like to remove.
  3. From the Actions drop-down, select Delete.

  1. A confirmation will display asking if you want to delete the security group. When a security group is deleted, it is removed from the instances it was associated to. You cannot delete a security group if it is in use by a running server. You will need to terminate the server. If the server is terminated, the security group will be removed. You will not be able to launch a server without a security group.
  2. Click Delete.
