Table of Contents

Prerequisites

You must have the "actor" role in the current account in order to run a macro.

Currently, you can use macros in Amazon EC2 environments with RightScripts only. Macros do not set inputs (attributes) for Chef recipes.

Steps

To run a macro, go to Design -> Macros. Select the macro that you want to run.

Note:  The example below assumes you created a macro from a deployment.

Next, you are prompted to provide the following information for the new deployment:

  • Nickname
  • Security group (you must create a new security group)
  • SSH key (you must create a new SSH key)

Each step's progress is shown in the Macro Execution window. (Some browsers may be unable to display macro execution information.)
