Other Queue Operations

In addition to adding or viewing messages in the queue, there are several other operations you can perform with respect to AWS SQS queues from within the RightScale Dashboard:

  • Refresh - Refresh the queue and display its general information
  • Clear - Removes all messages (clears) from the queue
  • Delete - Deletes the entire queue.  Warning!  You can delete a queue that still has messages in it.  You are not forced to clear it first.
  • Drop message - Delete the current message from the queue
