Table of Contents

Objective

To deregister a public Amazon Machine Image (AMI) residing in an S3 bucket.

Table of Contents

Overview

When you deregister an AMI, nobody will be able to see or use it.  You can only deregister images if you have the appropriate permissions.  If you deregister an AMI, you do not have to delete it.  You can leave an unregistered AMI in your S3 bucket.

Steps

Go to Clouds -> AWS Global -> EC2 Image Locator.

Select the S3 bucket that contains the AMI you would like to deregister (ex: aws-test).
