Create a New Rackspace Cloud Files Container

Objective

To create a new Rackspace Cloud Files container.

Prerequisites

  • Access to a Rackspace Cloud account.

Steps

Create a Container

  1. Log into your Rackspace Cloud Control Panel. (https://mycloud.rackspace.com/)
  2. Go to Files.
  1. Click the Create Container button.

  • Container Name - Provide a name for the container. It's recommended that you use all lower-case letters with no spaces. Use dashes (not underscores) as a separator between words. (e.g. db or my-db)
  • Region - Select the geographic region where the container will be created. You should select the region that will give your end users the lowest latency for retrieving objects from the container. (e.g. Dallas (DFW))
