Upload Files to a Google Cloud Storage Bucket

Objective

To upload files to a Google Cloud Storage bucket.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Google Cloud Storage Manager for your GCE project.
  • An existing Google Storage bucket.

Steps

  1. Log into the Google APIs Console. (https://code.google.com/apis/console/)
  2. Select your project or create a new one.
  3. Go to the Google Cloud Storage section.
  4. Under the Browse data section, click the Google Cloud Storage Manager text link. You can also navigate to the web interface directly if you know your project's ID. (e.g. https://storage.cloud.google.com/?project=<PROJECT_ID>)

  1. Select the bucket into which you are going to upload the files and click Upload. You can also create a new folder in the bucket and upload files to the folder instead.
  2. Browse and select the file to upload into the bucket.

  1. (Optional) By default, the access permissions of the file (object) in the container are set to private. To make the file publicly available, click the “Share Publicly” checkmark icon, which will also create a publicly resolvable URI to the object.
