Create a New Google Compute Storage Bucket

Objective

To create a new bucket in Google Compute Storage service.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Log into the Google APIs Console. (https://cloud.google.com/console/)
  2. Select your project or create a new one.
  3. Go to the Google Cloud Storage section.
  4. Under the Browse data section, click the Google Cloud Storage Manager text link. You can also navigate to the web interface directly if you know your project's ID. (e.g. https://storage.cloud.google.com/?project=<PROJECT_ID>)
  5. Click the New Bucket button.

  1. Provide a descriptive name for the bucket and click Enter. Note: The namespace of buckets is global. You must use a globally unique name that satisfies the naming requirements. See Bucket and Object Naming Guidelines for more information.
