Add a Datapipe Cloud to a RightScale Account

Objective

Add your Datapipe IaaS cloud credentials to a RightScale account so that you can use the RightScale Dashboard and API to manage your cloud resources. 

Prerequisites

• Access to the credentials of an existing Datapipe account. If you do not have a Datapipe cloud account, see Sign-up for a Datapipe Cloud Account.
• An existing RightScale account that you want to enable to manage your Datapipe resources.
• In order to add a Datapipe cloud, you must be an 'admin' user of the RightScale account.

Steps

1. After logging into the Dashboard, go  to Settings > Account Settings > Clouds tab. Click the Connect to a Cloud button.
2. Click the expand icon next to Datapipe to view all of the available clouds. 
3. Click the (+) icon next to the cloud you wish to add to the RightScale account.
4. Provide the required cloud credentials and click Continue.
   • ​Account Name - Log into the CloudPlatform management console and go to the "Accounts" section to view the "Name" of the account. 
   • Api Key - If you do not know this value, contact your cloud administrator (i.e. The person who created the Datapipe cloud account.)
   • Auth Key - If you do not know this value, contact your cloud administrator (i.e. The person who created the Datapipe cloud account.)
     
     
5. It will take a few minutes to validate the cloud credentials. Under Settings > Account Settings > Clouds tab, you should see the current status of the public cloud. You should also see the Datapipe cloud under the Clouds menu of the RightScale Dashboard.
   
    
6. (Optional) If desired, repeat this process to add another Datapipe cloud (region).
