Why does my Datapipe cloud instance lack an internal or private IP address?

Table of Contents

Background

You may have noticed that your Datapipe cloud instance isn't given an internal or private IP address. This may be problematic for you when writing scripts, creating templates or migrating assets to this cloud offering.

Answer

Unfortunately there is currently no workaround for this as it is working as designed.

Datapipe's clouds only offer a single public IP address per instance, so if you have any existing scripts, templates, macros, etc. that you are migrating over from an environment that is able to use private/internal IP addresses, you will want to accommodate for this change and modify your assets as necessary.
