What happened to the instance available notifications for account owners?

Background

I used to receive notifications from Rightscale stating "Your instance is now available..." however I have not received one of those in a long time. What gives?

Answer

Unfortunately, as of the April 2012 release, Rightscale has made the decision to deprecate this feature. The core services behind this feature have been removed as of April 2012, so the account owner will no longer receive these notifications.

You may still see the menu option within the Rightscale dashboard to enable or disable this feature (from Settings -> Account settings -> Preferences) however this is an oversight and it will not actually enable or disable the notifications. This should be removed from the GUI soon, which will eliminate any sign of this feature in it's entirety.

If you would like to see this feature again, you are welcome to leave some feedback on our feedback tracker at http://feedback.rightscale.com where it can be voted on for inclusion into a future release.
