How do I set up security groups to enable RightScripts?

Background Information

Is it necessary to set up a security group in a certain way so that RightScripts are enabled?

Answer

The ability to run RightScripts is not enabled by a security group, but, rather, the RightImages are modified to enable RightScripts.

If you are using a current RightImage (Version 5 or later), you should not need to make adjustments to your security groups to enable RightScripts. A RightLink agent is installed on the server and used for communicating with the RightScale platform (to run RightScripts) over a secure connection.

If you are using a legacy RightImage (Version 4 or earlier), however, you must open port 22 on the server to enable running of RightScripts as well as SSH access.
